CMST Tesla Model 3 Highland Carbon Aero Kit

di AME Motorsport 01 Jul 2026
2024 Tesla Model 3 Highland in pearl white wearing the CMST carbon-fibre aero kit, 3/4 front low angle

This CMST carbon-fibre kit is an aero package for the 2024-onward Tesla Model 3 "Highland" facelift, made up of a carbon front lip, side skirts, a rear lip with matching wrap-corners and a rear wing. Every piece is moulded carbon fibre designed to follow the Highland's revised body lines, so it sharpens the car's clean styling without changing its factory lights or grille. Parts can be fitted as a full set or bought individually, and the kit bolts and tapes on without cutting the bodywork.

One fitment point comes first: this kit is cut for the refreshed 2024 Model 3 (Highland), the car with the slimmer headlights and smoother nose. It will not line up on the 2017–2023 pre-facelift Model 3, which has different bumpers, so confirm which Model 3 you have before ordering.

  • Vehicle: Tesla Model 3 "Highland" (2024 facelift onward)
  • Fitment: 2024-on Highland only — not the 2017–2023 pre-facelift Model 3 (bumpers differ)
  • Material: Carbon fibre with a UV-stable gloss clearcoat
  • Key pieces: Front lip, side skirts (2-piece), rear lip, rear lip wrap-corners, rear wing
  • Finish: Exposed twill carbon weave under gloss clear; bolt-on and tape-on fitment

What the kit is

The Highland was Tesla's first major redesign of the Model 3, with cleaner surfacing and a more minimalist nose. CMST's kit works with that design language rather than against it: instead of a loud, busy bodykit, it adds carbon at the four points that change a car's stance most — the front splitter line, the sills, the lower rear and the boot. The effect is a Highland that looks lower, wider-set and more deliberate, while still reading as a factory-clean Tesla from a distance.

Because the pieces are designed as a set, they share the same weave direction and finish, so the carbon flows visually from front to rear. You can fit the whole kit for the complete look or start with one or two pieces. Browse the matching components in the CMST body kit range for Tesla to plan the combination you want.

Piece by piece

Front lip

The carbon front lip runs along the lower edge of the Highland's front bumper, with flowing, restrained lines that match the car's minimalist nose. Beyond looks, a front lip manages airflow under the nose and trims front-axle lift at speed, which helps steady the front end on the motorway and adds visual depth to the smooth factory face. It fits below the bumper without altering the headlights or the closed-off Highland grille. The matching parts are in the CMST front lip collection for Tesla.

Side skirts

The side skirts are a two-piece set running along the sills between the wheels, with a profile drawn from Tesla's own minimalist styling so they look integrated rather than bolted on. Fitted, they lower the car's visual centre of gravity and make the bodyside read as one continuous line from the front lip to the rear. Aerodynamically they smooth airflow along the flanks and reduce the air spilling under the car from the sides, and they protect the lower bodywork from stone chips. The skirt pieces live in the CMST side skirts collection for Tesla.

Rear lip and wrap-corners

At the back, the carbon rear lip adds definition to the lower bumper, giving the tail a more sculpted, layered look. CMST also includes a set of rear-lip wrap-corners that finish the outer edges where the bumper meets the rear quarters, so the carbon treatment wraps cleanly around the corners instead of stopping abruptly. Together they add depth and a three-dimensional finish to the rear without resorting to a bulky aftermarket diffuser, which keeps the look in step with the Highland's clean tail.

Rear wing

The rear wing is the kit's highlight. Carbon fibre is ideal for a wing because it is stiff and light: the rigidity stops the aerofoil flexing at speed, and the low mass sits high and far back on the car where weight has the most effect. A sensibly sized wing like this adds modest rear downforce and helps high-speed stability without the heavy drag penalty of an oversized GT wing — and on an EV, lower drag directly supports efficiency. It is the piece that most lifts the Highland's stance, adding a clear sporting intent to an otherwise understated tail. Compare the options in the CMST rear wing collection for Tesla.

Why carbon fibre, not the factory plastic

The Highland's factory lower trims are PP (polypropylene) plastic — flexible and cheap to mould, but relatively heavy for its strength and with no weave to show. CMST's parts are carbon fibre, which has a far better stiffness-to-weight ratio and shows a true exposed weave under a gloss clearcoat rather than a printed pattern. That stiffness is why the same material is used for structural parts on supercars, and it is why a quality carbon piece keeps its shape and finish far better than a budget glass-fibre copy. We won't quote a specific weight saving, because the honest figure depends on the exact panel and hardware.

Carbon rewards care. The clearcoat protects the weave from UV, but the parts last longest kept out of harsh sun where possible and washed with regular car shampoo rather than aggressive solvents. An occasional wax or paint sealant keeps the clear bright and slows yellowing over years of Australian sun. Treated like good paint, the carbon stays sharp for a long time.

Fitment, finish and EV notes

The single most important fitment fact is the model year: these parts are cut to the 2024 Highland's bumpers and panels, not the 2017–2023 car. Within the Highland range, the kit is bolt-on and tape-on aero, so it does not require cutting the body. Even so, carbon aero rewards careful fitment — test-fitting before final mounting, checking that gaps are even, and making sure the lip, skirt and wrap-corner edges sit flush. Any painted components should be colour-matched to your car's exact paint code by a professional, because Tesla's colours shift in different light.

On efficiency, treat the aero as a general principle, not a range promise: cleaner airflow and a low-drag wing help an EV hold its efficiency at higher speeds, but real-world range depends on speed, temperature, tyres and driving style, so we won't put a kilometre figure on it. If you want the same carbon theme across more of the car, the broader Tesla body kit collection and the full CMST catalogue cover complementary parts for a staged build.

Frequently asked questions

Does this kit fit the pre-2024 Model 3?

No. This CMST kit is designed for the 2024-onward Model 3 Highland facelift, the car with the slimmer headlights and smoother nose. The 2017–2023 pre-facelift Model 3 has different front and rear bumpers, so the front lip, side skirts and rear lip will not align. Confirm your car is the Highland model before ordering.

What are the rear-lip wrap-corners?

They are a set of carbon pieces that finish the outer corners of the rear bumper, where it meets the rear quarters. They let the carbon rear-lip treatment wrap cleanly around the corners rather than stopping at the centre of the bumper, giving the tail a more complete, three-dimensional look.

Is the carbon real, or a printed pattern?

It is real carbon fibre. CMST moulds the parts from carbon laminate cured under heat and pressure, leaving a genuine exposed twill weave under a gloss clearcoat — not a hydro-dipped or printed imitation. That is why the parts are light, stiff and hold their finish.

Can I buy individual pieces instead of the whole kit?

Yes. The front lip, side skirts, rear lip, wrap-corners and rear wing are all available individually as well as together. Many owners start with the front lip and wing for the biggest change to the car's stance, then add the skirts and rear lip later, which makes a staged build easy to budget.

Will the parts survive Australian conditions?

Yes, with normal care. The UV-stable clearcoat protects against sun, and carbon does not rust or corrode. Wash with car shampoo, avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemicals, and wax occasionally. Keeping the car out of constant direct sun where practical slows any long-term yellowing of exposed carbon.

Do I need professional fitment?

We strongly recommend it. Carbon aero is precise work — even panel gaps, correct tape preparation and clean alignment separate a factory-grade result from one that looks off. A workshop experienced with Tesla panels and carbon parts will also colour-match any painted components to your exact paint code.

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
